The goal of the National Health Policy is to achieve ‘HEALTH FOR ALL’. To attain this essential goal, various
National Health Programmes are being implemented, offering promotive, preventive and curative services for the entire population of the country. With this end
in view our teaching programme is so adapted as to mould the students into community physicians, who will be experts not only in individual patient-care but also
in community health care. Students will be trained in elementary epidemiological studies and basic statistical methods enabling them to plan organise implement
and, actively participate as administrative leaders of the health care team, both in urban and rural areas.

Active participation by students in regularly-held seminars and workshops will be a notable feature in the teaching
programme of the department. Students will be encouraged to utilise the department library with books and important journals along with computer facilities.

Students will have practical training, not only in our well-equipped laboratories and museum but will also get a chance to gain hands-on experience in patient care and community health in our urban and rural health centres and in the medical camps held in surrounding villages.
