The objective of the department is to develop an innovative teaching programme imparting knowledge and skills in pharmacology so as to enable the students to become doctors, trained in the scientific use of drugs who will be well versed with the rational use of drugs. Well equipped laboratories are available for practical training in Experimental Pharmacology. A clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacy. A clinical pharmacology unit for bed side learning will also be provided.

The department library has 100 books on various aspects of pharmacology and reputed journals for reference of the staff and students. Further students will be encouraged to use the computer facilities with 4 mbps internet access with 30 terminals in the library.
