Alumni Coordination Cell

Alumni Cell, the single point of contact between Alumni and Institute, offers our alumni a host of services that helps them keep in touch with their batch mates and also keep them updated on campus happenings.

Functions of the Cell

  • Responsible for the registration of all the outgoing students as alumni members and maintenance of the database.
  • Collects and compiles information of the distinguished alumni, viz., their achievements, progress and successful careers.
  • Maintains continuous interaction with the alumni and plans for utilizing their services for the benefit of present students and the institute.
  • Establishes the network of the alumni and present students through seminars, guest lectures, workshops etc.
  • Responsible for establishing alumni chapters and conducting their annual meets frequently. Host the alumni details on the Institute Website interacting with individual HOD’s through Institute Automation and update the same regularly.
  • Circulates the details of alumni to the present students for their benefit.
  • Invites the Alumni in good professional position for guest lecturers under discussions with HOD.
  • Identifies Funding for Instituting Scholarships for deserving meritorious students from Alumni.
  • Collects Funds to develop Library / Equipment / computer centers, Buildings etc

M.G.R Alumni Association (MAA)


The Alumni Association functions with objectives by staging an annual program of events and reunions; through communications, by providing a range of discounts and services for alumni. With the motto of

“Stay Connected to Share & Care”

The MGR Alumni Association aims to achieve the objective of the association through following practice, to keep a roster of all Alumni of college and their pertinent data, maintaining the updated and current information of all Alumni. To encourage, foster and promote close relations among the alumni themselves. To promote a sustained sense of belonging to the Alma Mater among the Alumni by being in regular contact with them. To provide and disseminate information regarding their Alma Mater, its graduates, faculties, and students to the Alumni. To guide and assist Alumni who have recently completed their courses of study at the Dr.MGR Educational and Research Institute to keep them engaged in productive pursuits useful to the society. To provide a forum for the Alumni for exchange of ideas on academic, cultural and social issues of the day by organizing and coordinating reunion activities of the Alumni. To let the alumni acknowledge their gratitude to their Alma Mater.

  • To establish and maintain an alumni association structure – Board, Chapters, Batch representatives enabling the smooth governance of the association.
  • To inspire alumni to enhance their total participation for their personal growth and for the university.
  • To provide a platform for the alumni to deliver their expertise to their junior batch.
  • To strengthen ties between the Institute and alumni and encourage them to participate in the various cultural and social activities.


Below we had embedded the Alma portal link which has a versatile social connectivity web base portal for convenient interaction. Specialty of Alma connect portal, it’s a place to share the memories, jobs, newsletter, by alumni office with alumni. The alumni meet their friends and share the memories photos, interest, as per their care.

Alumni Social Network
The almaconnect login page through which all our communication takes place through it. We can monitor the alumni movement and continuous tracking through the almaconnect portal. The students of final year are requested to register through the Almaconnect portal. The concurrent events are flashed in the portal for exclusive alumni registration.


We had specific geographical division on the basis of the national and international network according to regions for the better relationship and sharing. The network map is a base with which we maintain our alumni region wise. The MAA network works with office for conducting alumni events, alumni service support. We had categories the model in such a way thus the alumni fall under the region in either way. So it,s easy to document and share region-based network activities to alumni of particular region.
