Department of Anatomy

Anatomy is the basic foundation of medicine which initiates the student to correlate the subject with clinical sciences. The department is dedicated in teaching human anatomy to the medical and paramedical students to obtain comprehensive knowledge in anatomy.

The Dissection Hall is the place where the dead teaches the living. Students improve their knowledge and skills by actively participating in cadaver dissection under faculty supervision. The dissection hall is well lit, spacious, and ventilated with major equipments and audiovisual aids. The Histology laboratory is equipped with adequate instruments and teaching aids that serve as a platform for the students to study the normal microscopic structure of the tissues. The Museum in the department has mounted wet and dry specimens arranged aesthetically, region wise along with the comprehensive description for self learning by the students. Models, charts, imaging gallery like radiographs, CT and MRI films are displayed in the museum for teaching. The department has well equipped research laboratory that involves the faculties and students in research activities. Departmental library contains the latest edition of books and journals.

The department is provided with dedicated teaching faculty members, skilled lab-technicians and attenders. The faculty are trained to handle the new competency based medical curriculum and the department is actively implementing AETCOM, aligned and Integrated teaching, Small Group Teaching, early clinical exposure and self-directed learning.
