Department of Microbiology

The Department of Microbiology, ACS Medical College was established in the year 2007 and the prime focus of the department is on latest diagnostic techniques, research, hospital infection control.The faculties in the department of microbiology are actively involved in teaching & training MBBS Students, MD (Microbiology) postgraduates and paramedical students also conducts regular CME program, integrated teaching& practical training program.

The department has well qualified teaching and non-teachingfaculties graduated from renowned medical institutions. Department is equipped with Hitech teaching aids like viral models and paramount of parasites and camera aided binocular microscopes for virtual teaching. Department has well established library with various international cum national author books and journals.

The department has a well-equipped Central Diagnostic Laboratory, which offers diagnostic services in various sections such as Bacteriology, Virology, Mycology, Serology, Immunology, Parasitology and Molecular Diagnostic Lab ( NABL ACCREDITED )

Also involved in national programs like National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP), Integrated Counselling and Testing centre (ICTC) for diagnosis of HIV infections and focuses on microbiological diagnosis and surveillance of infectious diseases including community health and preventive activities.

Also Participates in Clinical Microbiology & Serology EQAS (External Quality Assessment Scheme) under Indian Association of Medical Microbiologists.
